Dublin-based start-up Skippio has raised €540,000 in seed funding to bring its fan experience platform overseas.
Founded in 2022 by Daniel Coen and headquartered at NovaUCD, the Skippio platform is designed to minimize long waits for food and beverages at large events such as sports games and concerts. The funding which was led by private investors and supported by Enterprise Ireland’s High-Potential Start-Up (HPSU) fund will be utilised to enter the UK market.
WiSAR collaborated with Skippio under the Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher programme in proof of concept development.
Skippio’s digital solution enables users to conveniently order and pay for food and drinks from anywhere within a venue without having to join queues. Customers can receive real-time updates on their orders’ status and can collect their items from an express lane.
Skippio was recognized with the Best Pitch award at the Prep4Seed start-up awards in November 2023 and has successfully completed all three phases of the New Frontiers Programme funded by Enterprise Ireland. The technology has been acknowledged for addressing a gap in the market, enabling attendees to enjoy events rather than wasting time in lines.
Enterprise Ireland has been a key supporter of Skippio during its early growth stages, providing assistance through the pre-seed start fund and involvement in the New Frontiers program.
