Dr Cullen is a lecturer in the Department of Computing at Atlantic Technological University, Donegal and has been involved in research for over 10 years, specialising in areas such as Blockchain Technologies, Software Development, Business Intelligence and Visualisation Techniques and Mobile Computing. Dr Cullen currently has 2 MSc. students and a PhD student under his supervision, researching areas such as Blockchain Technologies and Positioning Systems. He has been Primary Investigator on a number of local, national and international research projects. Prior to taking up his position as a lecturer Dr Cullen worked in industry for 10 years as a Software Developer and Systems Developer.
His PhD entitled CAPTURE – Cooperatively Applied Positioning Techniques Using Range Extensions, investigated the use of mobile devices to cooperatively position other mobile devices in an indoor setting. Dr Cullen was awarded his MSc. And PhD in Computing from Ulster University and completed his BSc. in Computing at LyIT.
