
The WiSAR Lab is a leading research centre and Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway specialising in low power embedded wireless technologies. With over 20 years of academic and industrial experience, the lab supports new product development, smart and remote monitoring solutions, and end to end technology capabilities from the Edge to the Cloud, incorporating machine intelligence where appropriate.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow to lead the development of embedded systems technologies and applications for product portfolios and manufacturing processes in the Health and Life Sciences sector. The successful candidate will join an established team delivering innovative wireless solutions for over two decades and will drive bespoke advanced manufacturing solutions for SMEs in the PEACEPLUS region.
The role will advance research in emerging embedded wireless technologies, with a focus on autonomous operation and remote monitoring, while collaborating with RF researchers to integrate new 5G/6G wireless solutions into products and manufacturing environments.
This position is part of the PEACEPLUS funded NWCAM2 project, supporting SMEs in developing environmentally sustainable manufacturing processes and products. The programme combines research and practical implementation to embed next generation wireless communications, embedded systems tools, and sustainable materials into advanced manufacturing technologies across the SME sector on both sides of the border.
