We Are Hiring: Digital Communications Officer (Maternity Cover)
WiSAR Lab & Technology Gateway at ATU Letterkenny is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Digital Communications Officer to support our digital communications strategy during a maternity leave period. This role involves promoting the work of the WiSAR Lab, including EU-funded and nationally funded research projects, to regional, national, and international audiences.
The successful candidate will be an organised, proactive communicator with strong digital skills and the ability to produce high-quality content across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support communication plans for WiSAR Lab and European multi-national projects
- Manage and update websites and social media channels
- Create compelling content for web, social media, newsletters, and press
- Design graphics, artwork, and promotional materials
- Support and promote events, workshops, and conferences
- Produce digital marketing plans for events and projects
- Capture and create photographic, video, and graphic content
- Monitor and report on analytics, audience reach, and engagement performance
Essential Requirements
- Strong communication skills and digital competency
- Leaving Certificate (or equivalent), or relevant experience demonstrating equivalent skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality work independently and collaboratively
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field
- 2–5 years’ experience in a similar communications role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMS platforms, and social media management
- Experience working on communications for research, technology, or EU-funded projects
- Skills in content creation, digital marketing, and multimedia production
